Winter arrived in full force

Posted in Teething, cabin fever, ice storm, middle of night waking at 6:59 am by missorganization

I have been away from my blog the last few days…….as the weather has made my kids get a little cabin feverish. We had such horrible weather lately that we got home around noon on Friday and have YET to leave our house (and yes, today IS Wednesday morning). We couldn’t even go to dance yesterday as school was canceled, thus instantly nixing dance class. Hmmmm, I think we just MAY need to at least try the store today to get us all out of this place for a little while! LOL!

Emma is also back to her night waking. In her defense she has been sick off and on, which has contributed to that. BUT, waking up at 3:50 a.m. on Tuesday morning — NOT to be blamed upon being sick. The good thing about that was the 2 1/2 hour, YES – 2 1/2 HOUR nap she took yesterday. Ahhhhh, I so miss the days of the nap. It really helps me regain my sanity and gives us all the much needed break from one another. I think that we are going to have to work back into afternoon quiet time for Emma again — if not for anyone except MOMMY!

Emma is also acting out towards Garrett. There are days I just want to cry and cry about it. It saddens me. I found out on Monday that what she is doing is completely normal. It is very common for jealousy to set in when younger siblings hit the 8 – 10 month mark as they require more attention. They are also starting to move and getting into things and in the eye of the older child — annoying them! LOL! We are going to start to just ignore the bad behavior of Emma and coddle Garrett when she does something mean to him and then overly praise her when she does something good. We are also working on “sharing mommy”…..quite a hard concept for her to grasp recently.

Garrett has been my “Buster Von Crankypants” again lately too. I think it has a lot to do with that second tooth working it’s way to the surface. Add in extreme drool, nightly wakings and some nice “presents” in his diaper and it equals teething for sure. We will survive this and then my little man will have two cute little white teefers!!! Awwwwww!!!

I am also still working on DH about baby #3. There are days he seems all for it and others where he doesn’t. I will say that one day last week he headed home early because of some bad weather. An episode of Dr. Phil was on about husbands who don’t want a child and women who do. It was excellent from him to watch and I know he learned from it because Dr. Phil said that he used the “scale” method. He was a 7 on having another child and his wife was a 10. He said that he knew he had to do what he needed to help her achieve her dreams. A couple of nights ago Tim asked me and I said I was a 9 or 10 and he said a 4 or 5!! SHOCK!!! Now granted, Emma had a bad day, so I am sure that contributed to that low score. I wish he’d stop being so damn WISHY-WASHY over this! GAHH — MEN!!!
