What is so magical about 3:45 a.m.?????

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:55 pm by missorganization

Seriously. I am on my third night in a row of getting a “wake up” call by at least one of my children this time of night!

Sunday night, Emma woke up to go potty and just “because”. After laying with her for 40 minutes, I finally had enough, got her a drink and told her to go to sleep on her own. She did and slept until almost 7 am!

Monday night, it was Garrett’s turn Granted, he isn’t even 8 months old yet and IS teething, so that could be his culprit as he rarely wakes in the middle of the night.

That takes us to Tuesday night. Emma’s turn again. This time – night terrors! She was crying so loud in her sleep. My heart actually ached for her. This time, it was quicker for her to go back to sleep and mommy actually slept with her until 5:30 a.m. She came into our bedroom at about 6:15 this morning.

So, I am just perplexed about the magic that occurs when the clocks strike 3:45 a.m. in our household. Maybe we have a spirit that is causing this. I mean, after all, it IS Halloween!

Gerber Puffs….look good outside the tummy too!

Posted in Gerber Puffs, Halloween, Raggedy Ann, Self-Feeding, Teething at 10:00 am by missorganization

Let the self-feeding games begin! Recently, we have started allowing Garrett to have the Gerber Puffs so that he can learn to master the art of the “catch and release”. He has the “catch” part down pat, but it is that release that needs work. Most don’t make it into his mouth.
Yesterday, we put some on the floor and I thought he at them all, until he rolled over, that is. That is when I learned that they looked on his tummy!!!

Our little man is also working on that first tooth. There is a plethora of drool and snot in our house at this moment. Any expert who says that poopy pants and runny noses are NOT signs of teething needs to have his expert status immediately revoked! We still have yet to see the tops of those pearly whites, but they are coming. And how cute will my little man look with them!?! Just adorable – as always!
Now, we also had a rare occurrence last night as well. Emma and Daddy were reading and she got relaxed and fell asleep in his chair. She has not done that in over 8 months! Needless to say, I was shocked. Then, because of how she was sitting, I was the lucky one who got to carry her to bed. Good Lord — for 32 lbs, she sure is heavy!!!! But, she did crash and had a great night’s sleep. YIPPEE!!!
Later today we will attend dance class where the kids will all be in costume. Emma still is determined to be a witch, much to my chagrin and to my constant reminding her that they don’t have any more witches and that if you want to get candy you have to be Raggedy Ann. I am sure she’ll put on the costume if she wants that candy. Mommy holds the key to getting her to dress up!!! MUAHHHAHHHAHHH!!!!!

Another little one….perhaps?

Posted in Date night, pregnancy at 9:21 am by missorganization

Tim and I had a “date” last night! It was great to get out of the house without any children in tow and just have a relaxing time when we could visit without hearing “Mommy, I’m done” or picking up a spilled drink or having to stop to feed a baby. I love my children, but it is good to get away once in a while.

During our meal (which was free because of a gift card Tim won), we started discussing a third child. Neither of us has closed the door, but as far as Tim is concerned, it isn’t WIDE open either. He doesn’t want to keep struggling cuz kids cost money. But, then he said that people always do make it work.

I told him that we could throw caution to the wind and whatever will happen, will happen and that if God wants to bless us with another baby, he/she will be conceived. If we are to be done, then we will not get pregnant. He did agree with that premise, but said that he still wanted to think and discuss it more.

So, after dinner we walk to Barnes and Noble and as we ride the escalator to the top floor, we step off and directly in front of us is the baby/pregnancy section!!! LOL!!! I think that this baby is really meant to be after all!!

I want this…no…wait….I’ve changed my mind – AGAIN!

Posted in Pregnant, indecisive, leaky diapers at 9:34 pm by missorganization

Yes, the indecisive three year old surely lives in my home. Seriously, one moment it is Barney 1-2-3 and then NO, NOT BARNEY, Dora — Halloween episode. Then, after that plays for 10 minutes, she is running into the family room with yet ANOTHER movie!! GAAHHH!!! Drives me INSANE!!!! Makes mommy tend to loose her cool….but I take a deep breath and tell her that she can only watch one thing at a time and that she has to finish what she chooses. So, it is very slowly getting better, but still a daily occurance.

I also learned this past week that cheaper diapers are just that – CHEAP! Poor Garrett has had to have his clothes changed more in the past week then I have ever had to since he was BORN!!! I have even had to wash sheets a couple of times. It is awful! So, WHITE CLOUD DIAPERS SUCK!!!!!!!! Although I have about 15 – 20 of these left, I will be loading my children into the van tomorrow, rain or shine, to head to purchase PAMPERS again……so my baby boy doesn’t have to wake screaming in the middle of the night.

Even with the indecisivness of Emma and the leaky diapers of Garrett, I am starting to really feel the itch to make another little baby. In fact, Tim asked Garrett tonight if he wanted a baby brother or sister. I immediately chimed in and said that I was going to “place my order with God” to get another little girl in the house. Tim smiled and said that as long as it was “pre-paid” for, he was fine with that! So, looks like sometime soon, we will be actually planning on making another little beautiful baby!!! MOMMY IS EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins – as far as the eye can see!

Posted in Concession Lunch, Hayride, Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkins at 7:29 am by missorganization

We took the kids to Johnson’s Farms on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day — well except for the 25 mph+ winds! We decided to make fun time of it and even had “lunch” there (well, as much as concession stand hot dogs and brisket can actually count as lunch).
Then, we looked at lots of little farm animals. Emma enjoyed watching the baby pigs get their “booby milk” as she so affectionately has come to call it! She thought the chickens and roosters were pretty cool too! Her favorite was the cow though! I think all kids have a fascination with cows….but for the life of me, I have no clue why that is.

We took many pictures and daddy declared that this trip seemed to be more about mommy than the kids. While that is partially true, I take the kids, even though they won’t remember, so that we can have pictures of a tradition that began in the year 2005. It is fun and even more so that Emma can really be involved and understand what is going on.

The sweetest part of the day was when Emma was crying because she was scared of the hayride. After we arrived at the pumpkin patch, she was fine and had a GREAT TIME searching for the perfect one for herself. She ended up with a little green one, that was just her size! she was very, very proud of herself.

So, we ended up leaving with a total of 4 pumpkins….one for each of us! Emma had a great day and Garrett, well, he was there, in the pictures, just so that we can show him that he went along for his very first visit to the pumpkin patch!

I am mommy….I am tired

Posted in moving, sleepy at 6:20 am by missorganization

It seems that Emma is well into this “wonderful” routine of waking before 6:00 a.m. again. I so long for the days of 6:30 – 6:45…..which is really only 45 minutes. However, 45 minutes more of sleeping is always welcome! So our new routine is to get up and come downstairs…..not even able to get to lay back down in bed. Oh well, it gives me time to be able to check on “my girls” on my forums and sometimes, even a couple of minutes to blog.

Emma went to Deanna Rose Farmstead with Tim’s parents. They said they had a good time. She even got to go and visit her great-grandma as well. Now, realize that GGMA is 87 and is most known for her constant repeating and her infamous quote of “It’s hell gettin’ old!” Apparently, my daughter kept her entertained enough that not only did she not repeat herself 20 times, but she didn’t even share her phrase! We chuckled about that because that truly is a rarity where Anna Mae is concerned.

I haven’t posted about this yet, but my mom has a GREAT chance to get a job out here! I am hoping that it works out as I’d lover her to be closer to her grandchildren. The best thing is that the company sells her house, helps her find a new one and pays to get her here….can’t beat that! Yes, she did find out that she can never move up in the company nor can she make as much as she would love to…..but she said that being close to her family is well worth that trade-off. So, many of us have been praying so very hard that this goes through.

I know that I would love this because I would have someone I trust completely with my children. MIL is sweet and all, but there are things I could never trust her to do….like bathe Garrett. She gets really nervous and over-reacts and does things that drive me bonkers…..unlike my mom. I am hopeful that with her being around, perhaps I will feel better about leaving the kids and maybe Tim and I can actually, dare I say it, HAVE A DATE?

Well, my little drama queen is now whining for her “Elmo cup” which is in my bedroom, so off I go to get my day up and running. Mommy needs a nap.

Confessions of a Three Year Old Drama Queen

Posted in drama queen, laid back children, sleep issues at 8:20 pm by missorganization

Drama Queen. No two words better summarize my sweet little Emma. She can be going along perfectly fine and break into out and out sobbing.

A couple of nights ago, she did NOT want to wear long pants to bed – she wanted shorts. I explained to her that it was getting too cold. She then began sobbing…you know….the kind where she can hardly catch her breath? I am just too soft and caved, but told her she MUST wear socks and that she was done with shorts for the year. Almost as quickly as she began crying, she stopped, smiled and said “I’m happy now.” Yes, you can put the picture of me holding back my laughter into your heads right now.

I must say that it pleases me that Garrett is NOT that way……at least not YET! I pray he continues to be laid back. Everywhere we go, people comment on how he doesn’t get upset. The mothers at Emma’s dance class were in shock today when I said he was tired and hungry and wasn’t getting fussy at all. I told them that it was just his personality. This lead us to the bedtime discussion.

I just don’t get why some people are STILL laying with their children to go to sleep at night when these kids are over 5 years old! I think it is just parenting gone awry and children who are still too dependent upon mom and dad to go to sleep on their own. I may lay with Emma once in a very GREAT while, but never stay until she is asleep. She still has to fall asleep on her own. I know a lot of parents do this and I guess, if that is what they want to do, that is totally their decision. I will say I am glad that both of my children go to bed, without incident and always alone.

Oh, and I have been doing a TON of work with my Paint Shop Software….have to post these pics of the kids….I think they are just too awesome!!!

I need a vacation

Posted in domestic planner, middle of night waking at 8:57 am by missorganization

Things are crazy around here lately. We have been selling a lot of things between craigslist and gunbroker, so that keeps me on my toes. Add in a dash of teething baby and 3 year old drama queen and you will agree that plotting my escape is something you’d be doing too!!

I am just tired. I want about 3 hours to myself. Not to have to work. Not to have to clean. Not to have to do ANYTHING but what I want to do. I know I deserve it and that I need it, but yet, I feel very guilty for thinking such a thing. Yes, I should do it because it will actually benefit my family cuz we all know “If Mama ain’t happy; ain’t NOBODY happy!”

On the positive side, however, my husband managed to surprised me last night. He told me he had to run an errand and I asked him to swing by the store and get me some toner too. So, he took off and did that for me, no questions asked. When he got home, I was working on the laptop in the family room, doing some business things. I headed upstairs to change the toner and noticed an envelope with my name on it.

So, I opened it up and it said that he was very proud of me for starting my own business. I thanked him and he told me THAT was the errand he had to run…..he was heading out just to get me a card to let me know that he was proud of what I was doing for me and our family. He really is sweet. And, as much as I really wanted to “show him” my appreciation last night, I was just too dog-ass tired to even think about it. Hmmmm, maybe we’ll try to night……because the kids will both be in bed early.

Yes, early, because Emma was up in the middle of the night AGAIN for a while. She woke up at 2:10 and I left her room at 2:55, so who knows WHEN she fell to sleep. She didn’t holler for us though, until about 6:50, so she did at least get a little more sleep but GEESH!!! Doesn’t this child realize what a beautiful thing sleep is???

It’s my party and I’ll…….CELEBRATE!

Posted in Ugly Betty, craigslist, domestic planner at 7:00 pm by missorganization

Well, today was my first “official” domestic planner party. There were 5 women there (which included my aunt as the hostess). Between the 4 of them, they racked up close to $200 in sales. WOOPIE!!! I am going to ring up my aunt’s order this evening, so all-in-all….a success!

I also booked another party from someone who is soooooooo excited about her party that she had already e-mailed everybody before I even got home after the party. She also may be VERY interested in hiring me for some consulting work! I am feeling the great sense of excitement that I had a couple of weeks ago. To be honest, I wasn’t “feeling the love” for doing the party today…..but boy, I am sure glad I did!

I actually NEEDED something good to happen to me today. I had sold a light and crockpot on Craigslist…..or so I thought. So, I head to the place to meet the gal for the light….15 minutes later I left — with the light still in my van.

I headed to Bass Pro and when I get there, someone he works with says that they are NOT allowed to conduct those types of transactions on company property and sends me away. I was PISSED!! So, I got home and I sent him an e-mail and told him that I wasn’t pleased when I drove out of my way to accommodate him….even though he was to have picked up the item. I was just doing it cuz I was close to that part of the city. I told him that he’d have to meet me at Target tomorrow (meeting other people) OR drive here. He said that he couldn’t make it….so the crockpot is back up for sale.

Now, the gal who bought the light sent me an e-mail and apologized that she totally spaced our meeting and that if I had to re-sell it, she would understand. She is gone until Sunday, but I understand her situation. It is one thing to forget and try to re-arrange vs. just being a jerk about the whole thing. I swear….some people!!!

Oh, and THEN, I get home and check my mail and have a letter from Commerce Bank about a security breach. Come to find out, about 20 people’s files were hacked, and yes, MINE was one of them. Luckily, DH’s wasn’t cuz he has AMAZING credit, so I am glad that his is safe. But still……

So, I have already gotten onto Experian’s website and filed a fraud alert and got my credit report. Glad to see some old things are going to be falling off of that report in the next year or so….whew!!!! Hopefully that starts to turn my score around to get higher and higher!

My kids….oh, my sweet kids! Emma had pictures today. She was not happy about wearing the bow in her hair, but I was told she did great and smiled just beautifully. She also has a friend at school, Andrew. Apparently, the two of them had to sit together at lunch, played all day and also had to have naptime together. I think that is so sweet and it makes mommy feel better to know that her baby girl’s social skills are developing nicely.

Now, Garrett….oh my….he was the DELIGHT of the party….such a little ham! Poor little guy, kind of got the shaft on the ole naps today, so by 5:45, the peanut was out cold. Bless his little heart.

Now comes time for my evening of relaxing and watching one of my favorite shows UGLY BETTY.

The never ending saga….

Posted in craigslist, header, migraine, sinus headache at 7:51 pm by missorganization

My %*@#)$^ head is STILL hurting!! I love the feeling of fall, but the way it is treating my sinuses makes me want to wish it away. I normally don’t EVER wish time away, cuz I can never get it back, but man, when the entire left side of your face is killing you, what more can you want?

Chances are that I have a sinus infection and need to go to the doctor to get on some medicines. The fear I have is that they will dry up the stuff in my nose and then tank my milk supply in the process. So, I sit and just keep dealing with the pain. Is it sad that it is becoming normal to me?

We are getting closer to Halloween!!! I can’t wait for my kids to get all dressed up! They are going to be Raggedy Ann and Andy….and I am sure they are going to look so adorable!! Well, they ARE my kids so of course they’ll be adorable (can you tell I am a proud mommy!?!?)

We also have had a lot of craigslist success!! We have or are in the process of selling: dog collar, duvet/shams, cross stitching, DVDs, coat, blankets, crock pot and light! We also sold one of hubby’s rifles, so there is even more money for us! It is funny, we both agreed tonight that we are SO EXCITED about starting our program next month. We are thrilled at the prospect of being debt free. It will be so amazing to us both and we will feel so good to have accomplished something that amazing. I remind him that he can be debt free (other than our home) by the time he is 40! KILLER!!!!

I am also proud that I figured out HOW to change the colors and header for this lovely blog of mine! I even made a link blinkie that matches it to use on my forums!! It probably isn’t that much of an accomplishment for the average person, but I feel amazing to have figured out how to go into the HTML text and remove the default header myself (yes, tooting my horn right now). So, enjoy the new graphic and colors……I know I sure do!! I am also sure that as time goes on, I will be editing the header as well to keep it fun and exciting!!
